“I guess, I can admit – tao naman ako... She’s a wonderful person. I guess one of those [reasons] was time. I admit, okay… Time, because marami rin akong gustong gawin eh,” the young actor said during his guest appearance on the morning talk show “Kris TV” on Wednesday.
Earlier in the show, Matteo said that “we didn’t agree anymore” with regard to their individual priorities.
The actor recognized that his relationship with Maja, plus his work as an actor and his newfound love for triathlon, “didn’t connect properly.”
It was in August when Maja confirmed their separation on the same show. She, however, clarified that the decision was mutual and denied the involvement of a “third party.”
Meanwhile, Matteo emphasized that “there’s always a right time for everything” and that “this time in our lives, we have different priorities...”
“But, you know, she’s always there in my heart. I’ll never forget her,” he added.
In parting, Matteo said, “I guess it’s not the right time for me to have [a girlfriend]. I’m not ready to have a relationship right now.”
He also made it clear that Maja didn’t have a hand in their falling out, firmly claiming, “It wasn’t her.”
